Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Pieter de Molijn could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work River Scene With Figures In A Boat, By A Bridge changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,704.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pieter de Molijn have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway in December 2019 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 88,641.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pieter de Molijn konnte im Januar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wechselte die Arbeit River Scene With Figures In A Boat, By A Bridge für USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.704,95) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter de Molijn auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A winter village landscape with peasants on a frozen waterway im Dezember 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 88.641,22).
