Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still-Life With An Oil Lamp, A Pocket Watch, An Open Song Book, An Overturned Roemer, A Gilded Covered Cup And Sea Shells, All Arranged On A Table Draped With A Green Cloth by Pieter Claesz was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 400,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 317,000.00 (€ 449,399.53) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Claesz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,805,000.00 (€ 2,144,730.48).

Die Arbeit Still-Life With An Oil Lamp, A Pocket Watch, An Open Song Book, An Overturned Roemer, A Gilded Covered Cup And Sea Shells, All Arranged On A Table Draped With A Green Cloth von Pieter Claesz kam im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 300.000,00 – 400.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 317.000,00 (€ 449.399,53) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Claesz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.805.000,00 (€ 2.144.730,48).
