This price was achieved in the auction The Weldon Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Pieter Claesz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,805,000.00 (€ 2,144,730.48).
