In July 2015 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work A herring on a pewter platter, with a roll of bread, a knife, an upturned glass, a stoneware and pewter jug, a red earthenware brazier, a white clay pipe, a bundle of matches and a pewter tobacco tin, on a partially draped table by Pieter Claesz. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 230,500.00 (€ 326,771.58), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Pieter Claesz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,805,000.00 (€ 2,144,730.48).

Im Juli 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit A herring on a pewter platter, with a roll of bread, a knife, an upturned glass, a stoneware and pewter jug, a red earthenware brazier, a white clay pipe, a bundle of matches and a pewter tobacco tin, on a partially draped table von Pieter Claesz zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 230.500,00 (€ 326.771,58) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pieter Claesz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life Of Lemons And Olives, Pewter Plates, A Roemer And A Façon-De-Venise Wine Glass On A Ledge im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.805.000,00 (€ 2.144.730,48).
