This artwork by Peter Brueghel II achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work Winter landscape sold for GBP 551,250.00 (€ 651,512.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 250,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Brueghel II achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle between Carnival and Lent in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 6,873,250.00 (€ 8,231,687.76).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Brueghel II erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Winter landscape für GBP 551.250,00 (€ 651.512,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 250.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Brueghel II erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Battle between Carnival and Lent im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.873.250,00 (€ 8.231.687,76).
