Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Miniatures, which included the work Louis-Marie Dulieu de Chenevoux, facing left in the uniform of the régiment du Roy infanterie, white coat with gold-embroidered blue facings, gold epaulettes, frilled white shirt, wearing a blue peaked hat embroidered in gold with the fleur-de-lys w by Pierre Rouvier. The price achieved of GBP 3,525.00 (€ 5,656.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Rouvier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,594.71).
