Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Pierre Rouvier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2020. In the Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection auction, the work Portrait of a lady, traditionally identified as Madame le Génerale D'Hautville, née Prévost, circa 1785 sold for GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,222.60) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Rouvier - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Unknown, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,594.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Pierre Rouvier erzielte im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection wurde die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, traditionally identified as Madame le Génerale D'Hautville, née Prévost, circa 1785 für GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.222,60) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Pierre Rouvier mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Unknown beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.594,71) versteigert wurde.
