Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ preaching in the wilderness by Philips Koninck was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,037.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philips Koninck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A woodland landscape with a cottage and figures in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 262,500.00 (€ 235,320.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Christ preaching in the wilderness von Philips Koninck kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.037,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philips Koninck erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A woodland landscape with a cottage and figures im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 262.500,00 (€ 235.320,48).
