Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ Preaching In The Wilderness by Philips Koninck was sold in the Old Master Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,625.00 (€ 11,392.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philips Koninck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A woodland landscape with a cottage and figures in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 262,500.00 (€ 235,320.48).

Die Arbeit Christ Preaching In The Wilderness von Philips Koninck wurde im Januar 2011 in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.625,00 (€ 11.392,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
