In October 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Marilyn Portfolio by Philippe Halsman. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,925.00 (€ 7,725.93), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Philippe Halsman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 75,941.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Marilyn Portfolio von Philippe Halsman zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 7.725,93) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philippe Halsman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Marilyn Monroe Jumping' im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 75.941,68).
