Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sans titre by Philippe Garel was sold in the Art d'Après-Guerre et Contemporain auction at Christies in Paris in May 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 12,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Philippe Garel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L'Africaine in July 2005 with an auction result of EUR 50,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sans titre von Philippe Garel wurde im Mai 2008 in der Auktion Art d'Après-Guerre et Contemporain bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 12.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philippe Garel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L'Africaine im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 50.400,00.
