Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in London held the auction British Impressionism, which included the work Chatterboxes by Philip Wilson Steer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 548,750.00 (€ 618,973.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Philip Wilson Steer have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2014 the work Tired Out was auctioned for GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Impressionism durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chatterboxes von Philip Wilson Steer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 548.750,00 (€ 618.973,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Philip Wilson Steer konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Mai 2014 die Arbeit Tired Out für GBP 674.500,00 (€ 828.982,26) versteigert.
