Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2015 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Yachts at Cowes (Summer at Cowes) by Philip Wilson Steer. The price achieved of GBP 314,500.00 (€ 443,441.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Other works by Philip Wilson Steer have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2014 the work Tired Out was auctioned for GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).
