Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Storm, Hawes, Yorkshire (Horses Racing) by Philip Wilson Steer was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,734.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Wilson Steer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tired Out in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).

Die Arbeit The Storm, Hawes, Yorkshire (Horses Racing) von Philip Wilson Steer kam im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.734,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Wilson Steer erzielen.
