Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2016 a collector was able to acquire the work Mrs Geoffrey Blackwell by Philip Wilson Steer for GBP 74,500.00 (€ 88,522.12). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Philip Wilson Steer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tired Out in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 674,500.00 (€ 828,982.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2016 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mrs Geoffrey Blackwell von Philip Wilson Steer für GBP 74.500,00 (€ 88.522,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip Wilson Steer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tired Out im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 674.500,00 (€ 828.982,26).
