Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Philip Sutton achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in March 2007. In the 20th Century British & Irish Art auction, the work Wild Geraniums sold for GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,885.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philip Sutton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers From Crown House, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 6,500.00 (€ 8,832.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Philip Sutton erzielte im März 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Wild Geraniums für GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.885,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Philip Sutton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers From Crown House beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 6.500,00 (€ 8.832,40) versteigert wurde.
