Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Meet in Dorsetshire with hunting portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Fane and other members of the hunt by Philip Reinagle was sold in the THE DORIS DUKE COLLECTION auction at Christies in New York in June 2004. The price achieved of USD 95,600.00 (€ 78,495.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Reinagle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic birds and insects among trees and foliage in a mountainous river landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 529,150.00 (€ 818,475.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Meet in Dorsetshire with hunting portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Fane and other members of the hunt von Philip Reinagle wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion THE DORIS DUKE COLLECTION bei Christies in New York versteigert.
