Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2020 Christies in London held the auction 300 Years Of British Drawings, which included the work Studies of a Newfoundland and 'Major', a Greyhound by Philip Reinagle. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,373.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Reinagle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic birds and insects among trees and foliage in a mountainous river landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 529,150.00 (€ 818,475.22).
