Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A prize greyhound in an extensive landscape by Philip Reinagle was sold in the Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe auction at Christies in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 51,683.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Reinagle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic birds and insects among trees and foliage in a mountainous river landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 529,150.00 (€ 818,475.22).
