Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction British Pictures 1500-1850, which included the work Birds of Prey, Goats And A Wolf, In A Landscape by Philip Reinagle. The price achieved of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 74,695.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Philip Reinagle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Exotic birds and insects among trees and foliage in a mountainous river landscape in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 529,150.00 (€ 818,475.22).

Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Pictures 1500-1850 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Birds of Prey, Goats And A Wolf, In A Landscape von Philip Reinagle zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 74.695,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Philip Reinagle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Exotic birds and insects among trees and foliage in a mountainous river landscape im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 529.150,00 (€ 818.475,22).
