The price achieved of GBP 175,000.00 (€ 197,779.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Petr Petrovich Konchalovsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Todzuro Kavarasaki, a Japanese actor in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,049,250.00 (€ 1,326,287.18).
