Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Portrait Of A Young Gentleman, Traditionally Identified As A Member Of The Egerton Family by Peter Oliver. The price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,524.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Oliver - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of A Lady, Traditionally Identified As Lady Anne Clifford, Later Countess Of Pembroke (1590-1676), Circa 1620, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 22,500.00 (€ 25,067.00).
