Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Pastorale; The First Gate; Garden With Henry 3 by Peter Milton was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 701.25 (€ 591.87). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Milton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Daylilies (Mcnulty 96), which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 2,375.00 (€ 2,248.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Pastorale; The First Gate; Garden With Henry 3 von Peter Milton im Juni 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 701,25 (€ 591,87) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Milton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Daylilies (Mcnulty 96) beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 2.375,00 (€ 2.248,63) versteigert wurde.
