Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Hurd could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in September 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Western Landscape changed hands for USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,882.47) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Hurd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Solitude in April this year with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 114,130.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Hurd konnte im September 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wechselte die Arbeit Western Landscape für USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.882,47) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Hurd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Solitude im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 114.130,43).
