The result of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,236.85) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Hurd have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Solitude in April this year with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 114,130.43).

Die Arbeit The Mirage von Peter Hurd wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion American Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.236,85) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Hurd auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Solitude im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 114.130,43).
