Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Antelope Hunter by Peter Hurd was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 52,812.50 (€ 43,671.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Hurd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Solitude, which sold at auction in April this year for USD 126,000.00 (€ 114,130.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Antelope Hunter von Peter Hurd kam im Februar 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 52.812,50 (€ 43.671,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Hurd mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Solitude beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für USD 126.000,00 (€ 114.130,43) versteigert wurde.
