Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Hurd could be acquired at Christies in Los Angeles in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS auction, the work The Watering Hole changed hands for USD 7,170.00 (€ 7,274.76) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Hurd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Solitude in April this year with an auction result of USD 126,000.00 (€ 114,130.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Hurd konnte im Juni 2002 bei Christies in Los Angeles für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion CALIFORNIA, WESTERN AND AMERICAN PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit The Watering Hole für USD 7.170,00 (€ 7.274,76) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Hurd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Solitude im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 126.000,00 (€ 114.130,43).
