This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Hurd - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Solitude, which sold at auction in April this year for USD 126,000.00 (€ 114,130.43).
