Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction PHOTOGRAPHS, which included the work During the Reed - Harvest, plate XXVIII from Life and Landscape on the Norfolk Broads, 1887 by Peter Henry Emerson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,585.00 (€ 5,378.82), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Peter Henry Emerson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selected Images in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 30,000.00 (€ 25,755.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion PHOTOGRAPHS durch, in der auch die Arbeit During the Reed - Harvest, plate XXVIII from Life and Landscape on the Norfolk Broads, 1887 von Peter Henry Emerson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.585,00 (€ 5.378,82) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Henry Emerson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selected Images im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 25.755,49).
