Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work The Living Shell 29 15/16 x 22 1/8 in (76 x 56.2 cm) by Pavel Tchelitchew was worth USD 108,450.00 (€ 99,422.44) to a buyer in November this year. This price was achieved in the auction Dance of Death at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pavel Tchelitchew achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Concert in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,385,000.00 (€ 1,619,289.71).
