Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jeremiah mourning the destruction of Jerusalem by Paulus Lesire was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 3,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paulus Lesire achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Willem Craeyvanger (1616-1659), half-length, in a black costume with a white collar and cuffs; and Portrait of Christine van de Wart, half-length, in a black dress with a white collar and cuffs, leaning with her right hand on a red uphols in May 2009 with an auction result of EUR 43,000.00.
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Willem Craeyvanger (1616-1659), half-length, in a black costume with a white collar and cuffs; and Portrait of Christine van de Wart, half-length, in a black dress with a white collar and cuffs, leaning with her right hand on a red uphols im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 43.000,00.
