Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work The Presentation of the Christ Child to Simeon by Paulus Lesire. The price achieved of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,961.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paulus Lesire have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Willem Craeyvanger (1616-1659), half-length, in a black costume with a white collar and cuffs; and Portrait of Christine van de Wart, half-length, in a black dress with a white collar and cuffs, leaning with her right hand on a red uphols in May 2009 with an auction result of EUR 43,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Presentation of the Christ Child to Simeon von Paulus Lesire zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.961,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paulus Lesire auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Willem Craeyvanger (1616-1659), half-length, in a black costume with a white collar and cuffs; and Portrait of Christine van de Wart, half-length, in a black dress with a white collar and cuffs, leaning with her right hand on a red uphols im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 43.000,00.
