Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Little Girl Showing Off by Paula Rego was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 88,200.00 (€ 101,278.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paula Rego achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 3,065,000.00 (€ 3,519,471.52).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Little Girl Showing Off von Paula Rego wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 88.200,00 (€ 101.278,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paula Rego erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.065.000,00 (€ 3.519.471,52).
