A top price for Paula Rego - as previously expected
In October this year Christies in London held the auction 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale, which included the work Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' by Paula Rego. It changed hands for a price of GBP 3,065,000.00 (€ 3,519,471.52) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,200,000.00 – 3,200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' is the most expensive artwork by Paula Rego that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th/21st Century: London Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' von Paula Rego zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 3.065.000,00 (€ 3.519.471,52) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.200.000,00 – 3.200.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Dancing Ostriches from Walt Disney's 'Fantasia' das teuerste Kunstwerk von Paula Rego, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
