Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Reflections by Paul Wyeth was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 384.00 (€ 556.99). Admittedly, works by Paul Wyeth have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the fair in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,088.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Reflections von Paul Wyeth im Juli 2005 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 384,00 (€ 556,99) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Wyeth auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit At the fair im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.088,88).
