Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Fence by Paul Strand was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 608.00 (€ 574.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Strand achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Akeley Motion Picture Camera, New York, 1922 in April 2013 with an auction result of USD 783,750.00 (€ 595,192.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit White Fence von Paul Strand kam im September diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 608,00 (€ 574,45) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Strand erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Akeley Motion Picture Camera, New York, 1922 im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 783.750,00 (€ 595.192,89).
