Despite a disappointment, a good price for Paul McDevitt
When the work Soundless Shoogie by Paul McDevitt was auctioned at Phillips in London in June 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,370.06). Despite this disappointing result, Soundless Shoogie is the most expensive artwork by Paul McDevitt that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Paul McDevitt
Als die Arbeit Soundless Shoogie von Paul McDevitt im Juni 2008 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.370,06) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Soundless Shoogie das teuerste Kunstwerk von Paul McDevitt, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
