In June 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Works on Paper and Day Sale Morning including The Analytical Eye: The Branco Weiss Collection, which included the work Schützerin (Protectress) by Paul Klee. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 254,500.00 (€ 297,047.08), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Klee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bunte Landschaft in November last year with an auction result of USD 4,860,000.00 (€ 4,707,933.74).
