Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chelsea Wharf by Paul Fordyce Maitland was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art auction at Christies in London in March 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,636.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Fordyce Maitland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Row In August in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,210.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chelsea Wharf von Paul Fordyce Maitland wurde im März 2017 in der Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.636,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Fordyce Maitland erzielen.
