In September 2016 Christies in London held the auction Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector, which included the work A view of Little Venice, London by Paul Fordyce Maitland. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,790.62), 67% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Paul Fordyce Maitland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Row In August in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 41,210.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im September 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Brian Sewell - Critic & Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit A view of Little Venice, London von Paul Fordyce Maitland zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.790,62) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Fordyce Maitland auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Row In August im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 41.210,20).
