Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Reading, Waiting, Copying by Paul Bloodgood was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,599.40) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Bloodgood - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Thing Language, which sold at auction in March 2017 for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,842.21).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Reading, Waiting, Copying von Paul Bloodgood kam im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.125,00 (€ 2.599,40) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Bloodgood mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Thing Language beobachtet, die im März 2017 für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.842,21) versteigert wurde.
