Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Castle Ruins In A Landscape With Figures And Cattle In The Foreground by Patrick Nasmyth was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,063.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Nasmyth achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A view near Woburn, Bedfordshire in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 43,083.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Castle Ruins In A Landscape With Figures And Cattle In The Foreground von Patrick Nasmyth im März 2006 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.063,26) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Patrick Nasmyth erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A view near Woburn, Bedfordshire im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.250,00 (€ 43.083,58).
