Auction result well in line with expectations

In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Gordon Collection of Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A young gentleman, in brown coat with gilt buttons, white waistcoat, white lace cravat, powdered hair by Patrick McMoreland. The price achieved of GBP 500.00 (€ 700.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 400.00 – 600.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick McMoreland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.49).

Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Gordon Collection of Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young gentleman, in brown coat with gilt buttons, white waistcoat, white lace cravat, powdered hair von Patrick McMoreland zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 500,00 (€ 700,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick McMoreland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.920,49) versteigert wurde.
