Auction result well in line with expectations

In July 2004 Christies in London held the auction AT HOME - PORTRAIT MINIATURES, OBJECTS OF VERTU,SILVER PLATE, which included the work A young lady, in profile to left, in a white dress adorned with pearls and pearls in her upswept powdered hair by Patrick McMoreland. The price achieved of GBP 358.50 (€ 541.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick McMoreland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.49).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Juli 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion AT HOME - PORTRAIT MINIATURES, OBJECTS OF VERTU,SILVER PLATE durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young lady, in profile to left, in a white dress adorned with pearls and pearls in her upswept powdered hair von Patrick McMoreland zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 358,50 (€ 541,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 300,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick McMoreland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.920,49) versteigert wurde.
