Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Elizabeth White, facing right in a white dress with blue bodice, a blue ribbon in her upswept curling hair by Patrick McMoreland was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 211.50 (€ 345.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Patrick McMoreland have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.49).
