Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection, which included the work Portrait of The Reverend J.H.P. Blackburne, when a child by Patrick McMoreland. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 630.00 (€ 703.77). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick McMoreland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,920.49).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper, including Portrait Miniatures from the Pohl-Ströher Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of The Reverend J.H.P. Blackburne, when a child von Patrick McMoreland zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 630,00 (€ 703,77) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick McMoreland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit James Hudson, facing right in blue coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered wig en queue beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.920,49) versteigert wurde.
