Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work Silvery Noonday, Tarbert, Loch Fyne by Patrick Downie. The price achieved of GBP 2,390.00 (€ 3,577.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Downie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A rainy evening, Paisley, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,272.28).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.390,00 (€ 3.577,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden.
