This artwork by Patrick Downie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2004. In the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction, the work Bathers, Firth of Clyde sold for GBP 2,629.00 (€ 3,935.37) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Downie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A rainy evening, Paisley, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,272.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Patrick Downie erzielte im März 2004 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings wurde die Arbeit Bathers, Firth of Clyde für GBP 2.629,00 (€ 3.935,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Downie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A rainy evening, Paisley beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.272,28) versteigert wurde.
