Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms, which included the work Stormy Weather Off Girvan by Patrick Downie. The price achieved of GBP 2,400.00 (€ 3,513.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Patrick Downie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A rainy evening, Paisley, which sold at auction in October 2005 for GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,272.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stormy Weather Off Girvan von Patrick Downie zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.400,00 (€ 3.513,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Patrick Downie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A rainy evening, Paisley beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für GBP 9.000,00 (€ 13.272,28) versteigert wurde.
