Auction result well in line with expectations
The work High Street, Clovelly, Devon by Patrick Downie was auctioned at Christies in London in August 2010. The price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 906.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Downie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A rainy evening, Paisley in October 2005 with an auction result of GBP 9,000.00 (€ 13,272.28).
